Materials/Methods:
ReZoom (Advanced Medical Optics) and ReSTOR (Alcon) MIOLs were measured using a high-resolution Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor, and Zernike coefficients up to 14th order were calculated (4mm pupil diameters). Retinal image quality (RIQ) defined as the visual Strehl ratio weighted optical transfer function (VSOTF) was calculated for a through focus of -4 to 4 diopters (D). Effective depth of focus (DOF) was defined as a range of defocus from infinity to near where the VSOTF is larger than 0.04 corresponding to 20/40 visual acuity. The effects of lens decentrations up to 300æm on DOF were evaluated with typical post cataract extraction corneas.
