About the Presenter:
David S.C. Pao, M.D. is in private practice in Bucks County, PA. He holds academic appointments to Wills Eye Institute and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and is engaged in residency training and medical student teaching. His BS degree is in electrical engineering from Swarthmore College and M.D. degree is from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. After an Ophthalmology residency at Jefferson and a retinal fellowship at Wills Eye, Dr. Pao served in the US Army medical corps as chief of Ophthalmology at Fort Devens, Mass.
His engineering background has produced several ophthalmic instruments. Among these are irrigation-aspiration system, bipolar cautery,ERG-VEP electro-physiology system, nucleus pre-chopper and a rotating cystitome for anterior capsulotomy.
