About the Presenter:
Dr. Kimiya Shimizu is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, Kitasato University School of Medicine. Formerly, he headed the Department of Ophthalmology at Musashino Red Cross Hospital.
He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons, a Council Member of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society and a Member of International Intra-Ocular Implant Club (IIIC).
He also chaired the 31st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons, which was held from 1st February to 3rd February, 2008, in Yokohama.
In the past, he acted as a moderator with Sir Harold Ridley (Honorary Congress President, UK) for the "3-Dimensional Advanced Cataract Surgery Video Seminar".
He is a visiting professor at Cataract Center of Dailan Medical University in China since April 2003.
He is specialized in refractive surgery, cataract surgery, IOL and LASIK.
Dr. Shimizu is frequently invited as a guest speaker and lecturer around the world.
