Results:
Ocular hypertension occurred in 30(4.7%) eyes. IOP rise occurred 2-3 weeks postoperatively in 10(33.3%), 4-6 weeks in 13 (43.3%), and 8-12 weeks in 7(23.3%) of the eyes. The mean IOP reading was 21.5 mmHg (range: 21-28 mmHg). Patients were followed from 3 to 62 months (mean 13.6). Rise in IOP was strongly correlated with postoperative corticosteroid usage. The IOP was recovered to normal in all patients after discontinuation of topical betamethasone and using 0.5% timolol. Mean duration of IOP normalization was 25.7 days (8-108 days).Steroid-induced glaucoma was observed in no patient.
